The Big League Book Club program is a unique partnership between DAREarts and Fund an Event Enterprises that targets boys in grades 1-6, teaching them various basketball skills while incorporating the important life skill of reading at the same time. These young boys are coached and mentored by high school basketball athletes who facilitate various drills, games and skill competitions revolved around basketball, while playing the role of a positive role model.

Each student fully participates in both the reading and basketball portions of the program, reading and completing multiple book reports appropriate for their grade level. The philosophy of this program is to build awareness in young boys of the importance of reading, guiding them to a higher level of success for the future.

This program runs on Saturday mornings from 10 am – 2 pm with two 2 hour sessions separating the age groups, starting Saturday, October 9, 2010.
