iDAREarts (formerly D2A/DARE2act) is a weekly after school forum for DAREarts teen grads and their peers. The iDAREarts teens are DARED to take positive "action" through the innovative use of creative and technological tools.
Each session incorporates a life lesson, examined through the lens of an art form.
Using Toronto as their after-school classroom, the teens explore the world through the city's diverse cultures - while developing essential life and career skills; financial skills; and enhancing their leadership abilities, through mentoring, volunteering and public awareness.
iDAREarts took part in 'Global Work Party' hosted by Northbridge Insurance, part of a worldwide movement to solve the climate change crisis. Teens delivered hand-painted t-shirts with messages of climate change solutions and learned about insurance through interaction with Northbridge staff.
Attention DAREarts Grads: Now is the time to apply for a DAREarts Leadership Award!
Open to DAREarts Graduates, the DAREarts Leadership Awards show the world what young people are thinking and capable of doing to improve the world for themselves and for those around them. From DAREarts graduates, we choose six teens to tell their own individual stories.
If you are chosen:
You will receive a medallion AND a $500 award. Your photo may be in the newspaper and evening programs. You will attend the Leadership Awards dinner held each spring in downtown Toronto.
Being a leader is one, if not the best feelings in the world.
