Since 2010, the Vancouver Playhouse Theatre Company and DAREarts have partnered to create an annual series of academically-grounded arts based workshops for youth aged 12 – 15. Through dance, movement, drama, literature, music and visual arts, DAREarts prepares young adolescents to attend upcoming productions while exploring their own creativity and values to take on life’s challenges. 

With their DARE values of Discipline, Action, Responsibility and Excellence in hand, the youth rise to every opportunity to be leaders that ignite change – in their own lives and in their community. 

At the request of Vancouver schools and a new partnership with HEROS Hockey, the DAREarts program has expanded to three weeks in November. Continued expansion will depend on further funding. We appreciate the growing support of the community including the City of Vancouver, Northbridge Insurance, HUB International Canada West Co., Opus Framing & Art Supplies, and Best Buy Canada Ltd.
