Dennison — Toronto, ON

dennisonDennison is a 2nd year medical student at the University of Toronto. This year, he is running two community programs that he is very passionate about: Kids2See, which is a program that screens children from low-income families for visual problems, and Making Waves, a non-profit organization that provides one-on-one swimming lessons to children with disabilities. In his spare time he enjoys painting, swimming, cooking (and eating), and traveling.

Dennison began his journey with DAREarts ten years ago in middle school, and has been involved ever since. He believes DAREarts has been a vital part of his personal growth. "DAREarts has taught me invaluable lessons in art, leadership, and community action, and has helped me develop my self-confidence and perseverance." He hopes through his involvement with YAC, he will be able to aid the continued development of DAREarts, and help the program reach more kids in need.

Interesting fact: Dennison is a certified scuba diver. He completed his Advanced Open Water certificate in Thailand in the summer of 2012, and then booked a trip to Belize for the winter holiday to do some more diving!
